I know it may be considered in poor taste to laugh at this but nobody got hurt (except for the taxpayer of course).
It seems that a supersized Santa was placed in the town square of Balneário Camboriú, a city located in the southern region of Brazil, specifically the state of Santa Catarina.
A steel structure supported the load of a cotton and paper Santa Claus. This article claims the cause of the incident has not yet been revealed but a source close to the Gritty Poet informs that some workers were welding part of the structure and the resulting sparks caused St. Nick to flame up.
